The right beginners guide to internet marketing can be the difference between mind blowing success and costly, heartbreaking failure. Which would you rather have? Yes, I thought so. I know both sides of this issue so let me share some affiliate marketing secrets I have learned over the years.
People new to making money online, called newbies, often are desperate to make money and are easy prey for “gurus” selling worthless scams promising fast riches with little work. This falls into the “if it looks too good to be true it probably is” category.
Do not take this the wrong way, many people have made money quickly with affiliate marketing. One of these, the author of one beginners guide to internet marketing I profited greatly from, went from nothing to quitting his day job in about six months.
But he worked hard at it and relied on no get rich quick schemes.
And because it was hard work he was not bashful about sharing his affiliate marketing secrets. He created a step by step guide to internet marketing and, although he sold it at first, ended up giving it away.
Here are some learn to make money online secrets for you:
First, learn from pros not scammers. How do you tell the difference? Well, it might not always be cut and dried but for starters, reference what I said above about scammers. If they promise big money, fast, with little work, then that is your first clue to run away.

Second, determine your own commitment. If what you are looking for does not include work, but simply a way to get rich quick, then forget internet marketing altogether. Try some Forex scam, or lottery tickets maybe. Affiliate marketing is a business, and requires effort on your part.
The good news is that your work can be from home and can pay off big. That is why most of us have chosen this business. We work how we want, where we want, on our own schedule. And the success can be simply awesome.
Third, chose a proven strategy. You can pickup a guide to internet marketing most anywhere on the web, but how do you know it is any good? The key is a time proven strategy that has a large and successful following.
Fourth, do not be afraid to pay for quality training. Much of the free information on the internet is, honestly and unfortunately, worth exactly what you pay for it. Is it no wonder that one free piece of advice directly contradicts another? Just watch your budget and do not pay more than you can afford.
Fifth, make sure that your training includes support. Buying some affiliate marketing guide that leaves you out in the cold is of little value, you are going to have questions – I guarantee it. That is one reason I like paid membership communities with active forums; the support is simply superb and there is usually someone around 24 hours a day.
There is no reason you cannot join ranks of people successfully making money online and maybe even be able to quit your day job if that is one of your goals.
To do that, though, you must choose a proven strategy to follow and then you must stay focused and work consistently at it in order to succeed. Having a group of people to support you – both at home and online – can be a great advantage. The group at home provides emotional support.
Online, though, you want more than that. You want answers to your questions, guidance and the feedback of pros who have been where you are and want you to succeed as they did.
